Campbell Union School District
2nd Grade Teacher and Technology Coach
San Francisco Bay Area
I have been a teacher in the district since 1991. During my years, I have worked hard to extend my knowledge and skills through participation in professional development. I have taught all subjects, and fifth through seventh grades. I strive to teach innovative, culturally relevant lessons allowing students choice. Technology integration has been critical in allowing my to support students through differentiation of content and materials. Students thrive when they can not only choose what they learn, but how they show their learning. I work on instilling a growth mindset in students, and help them to focus on how they learn. I am currently in the Campbell cohort at Santa Clara University earning a master’s degree and preliminary credential in Educational Leadership. I have been on my school site’s Leadership Team, PBIS, School Site Council, Building Advisory Committee, and AVID. I have served on the district’s Writing Committee, District Technology, STEAM, Classroom Renovation Committee, Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies. I am currently the grade level lead for the district this year in our work with learning targets for job alikes. I have been a technology integration coach, a master teacher, and a BTSA coach. I was thrilled to represent Campbell Middle School as Teacher of the Year and as a finalist for District 5, California League of Middle Schools Teacher of the Year.
